EBERECHI Eze scored a superb double for Wycombe Wanderers in their 3-1 win against Cambridge United on Saturday.
The QPR youngster, on loan at the League Two side, fired two long range efforts as Gareth Ainsworth’s side recorded victory at the Abbey Stadium.
First up the R's under-23 attacker scored with an excellent right foot finish three minutes after half-time, before he followed that up with his left peg in the 57th minute from a similar range.
Eze, who was making his fifth start of his loan spell with the Chairboys, deservedly took the plaudits at full-time.
“The headlines will go to Eze,” said ex-Rs favourite Ainsworth. “Ironically, the story is I worked with him yesterday and said 'you're due a goal, you don't have to put it in the top corner.' What does he go and do? He puts it in the top corner, so what do I know! Fantastic talent, and what a great character to have around.
"I love working with him. The older boys are rubbing off on him, they're complementing him, they're making sure he doesn't get too high and keeping his feet on the floor, but he's a talent and I think he's going to be opening a few eyes very soon. I'm just glad we've got him, at least until January.”
Victory lifts Wycombe to seventh in the League Two table after 11 matches.
