Rail Seating Survey - Update

FOLLOWING consultation with QPR supporters via online and in-person surveys, the club has received overwhelming support in favour of the introduction of Rail Seating at Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

From 3,212 respondents between February 2020 and October 2021, 88.01% agree Rail Seating will improve the atmosphere.

In terms of where in the stadium supporters feel Rail Seating would be most effective, the Lower Loft received the most votes, with 74.13% of respondents choosing this location.

The full list is shown here:

  • Lower Tier Loftus Road Stand – 2,381 (74.13%)
  • Ellerslie Road Stand – 360 (11.21%)
  • Upper Tier Loftus Road Stand – 191 (5.95%)
  • West Paddocks – 117 (3.64%)
  • East Paddocks – 86 (2.68%)
  • South Africa Road Stand – 77 (2.40%)

Regarding how fans would feel if the area they sit in received large-scale support to introduce Rail Seating, more than three in four of those surveyed (75.22%) would be happy with this.

CEO Lee Hoos said: “As I am sure QPR supporters know by now, I like to make sure I get the views of a complete cross-section of the fanbase before key decisions are made which will impact them.

“During the pandemic and over the past 18 months we have been canvassing opinion on the introduction of Rail Seating. The results are pretty clear – the vast majority of our supporters want to see it introduced at Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

“So that’s what we would like to do.

“However, we must make sure we engage with fans who will potentially be impacted by this. While 75% of fans surveyed are happy for this to be introduced in the area they sit in, we must respect 15.48% said they would be unhappy.

“As a club, we have made huge strides in what we provide for families and the next generation of our fanbase culminating in the EFL Family Excellence Gold Award in 2020 and being ranked number one across the whole EFL from independent reports.

“We must ensure our decision regarding Rail Seating is sympathetic to their needs also.

“So, we need to engage with all supporters who could be affected and do all we can to ensure that if Rail Seating is introduced it is done in a sympathetic manner.”

The results are pretty clear – the vast majority of our supporters want to see it introduced at Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.
