DEFENDER Grant Hall has had a setback in his return from injury manager Ian Holloway has revealed.
Hall has been missing all season with a tendonitis problem picked up in pre-season.
The R’s centre-back appeared to be nearing a return after coming through 70 minutes at Charlton, which followed a 45-minute run-out against Coventry a week earlier.
But following that appearance in Monday’s 5-4 win Holloway confirmed the 25-year-old has suffered a reaction.
“Hally has had a setback,” Holloway confirmed.
“He couldn’t train this week because he had a reaction after the game. We don’t know the seriousness of it at the minute. Hopefully it will settle down but there was no reaction to his first game but there has been a reaction to his second one.”
However, on a brighter note Jordan Cousins has fully recovered from the hamstring injury which has prevented him from appearing for the first team this term.
“Jordan has done very well and will be in the squad for the weekend,” Holloway said ahead of Saturday’s first team match with Bolton.
James Perch (knee) is expected to be sidelined for a further three weeks while Nedum Onuoha (hamstring) is expected to remain out for six more weeks.
Defender Jack Robinson (hand) also remains out.
