THE STANLEY Bowles Stand will officially open this weekend in honour of the R’s legend.
Bowles made 315 appearances and scored 96 goals during a seven-year spell in W12 between 1972 and 1979, cementing his name in the club’s history through his incredible talent and personality.
The Ellerslie Road Stand was renamed during the summer and the club are looking forward to welcoming the Bowles family to our fixture with Middlesbrough on Saturday.
While Stan, who is living with Alzheimer’s, cannot be in attendance we are keen to show his loved ones just how highly thought-of he continues to be.
At 1.30pm, the family will officially open the The Stanley Bowles Stand at the main entrance on Ellerslie Road. It would be great to have as many fans as possible arrive for this moment.
The R’s faithful are also encouraged to show their support for Stan with a minute’s applause in the tenth minute of the match.
At half-time a message from the Bowles family will be read out. Fans are encouraged to remain in their seat for what is sure to be an emotional moment.
We look forward to welcoming all supporters, including the Bowles family, to Loftus Road this weekend.
