THE club is constantly looking at ways to improve and engage with as many supporters as possible.
One of these areas is how to enhance the overall atmosphere at the stadium. Whilst there have been many suggestions, one which appears to resonate well would be the introduction of rail seating.
Rail seating was developed to allow fans to sit or stand safely at a stadium. It has been used extensively in Germany and more recently introduced in the UK, with certain clubs in League One and Two as well as Celtic in the Scottish Premier League.
Clubs such as Wolves and Manchester United have recently considered the installation of safe standing areas. More information on the concept and an idea of what rail seating looks like can be found by clicking HERE.
We feel rail seating is an option worth looking at in consultation with our supporters. It raises several questions and challenges such as:
- Where do we put it?
- What about people already sat in those areas?
- How many people would be interested in relocating to an area which offered rail seating?
- If the area is over-subscribed, how do you determine who will be allocated a space?
To start the consultation process, I would be grateful if you could take the time to complete the questionnaire by clicking the link below. Please complete this before Friday 3rd April for your opinion to be considered.
I must stress at this point that this is the start of a consultation only and that any implementation of rail seating would only start if it is approved by the appropriate licensing authorities.
Thank you for your time in completing this and for your continued support.
