THE STANLEY Bowles Stand has started to take shape ahead of the 2022/23 season.
QPR fans have been keen to show their support for arguably the club’s finest ever player, culminating in the Ellerslie Road Stand being named after the iconic No.10, and total funding for it has now been achieved.
Bowles’ name is taking centre stage across the top of the stand and club ambassador Andy Sinton, who is also a member of The Forever R’s committee, said: “It is fantastic to see Stan’s name taking pride of place in the stadium.
“There have been many great players at this club – and I was fortunate enough to call some of them my team-mates – but Stan Bowles was, in the eyes of many, the greatest of them all.
“The backing from the supporters for this initiative has been superb and seeing Stan’s name up there is really special.”
The funding target of £10,598 for the implementation of The Stanley Bowles Stand, which will also include an iconic image of Bowles and lettering displayed on the wall inside the current Ellerslie Road Stand, has been reached through a mixture of fan-funding and donations from The Forever R's Club.
