We want your Loftus Road memories

THIS year marks the 100th anniversary since Loftus Road became the home of Queens Park Rangers Football Club – and we want your memories to help us celebrate the occasion.

The R’s took to the Loftus Road pitch for the first time on 8th September 1917 when we played host to West Ham United. To mark the centenary, several activities will be taking place when Ipswich Town are our visitors this season (Saturday, 9th September).

Since that fixture against the Hammers, memories have been made and heroes have been born.

From our semi-final second leg win over Birmingham City which took us to Wembley in 1967 to THAT Gerry Francis goal against Liverpool on the opening day of the 75/76 season; our amazing comeback from 4-0 down to draw 5-5 against Newcastle in 1984 and what about our 6-0 win over Chelsea in 1986? Then there was Trevor Sinclair’s outrageous overhead kick in 1997, and who can forget Paul Furlong’s ground-shaking winner against Oldham in 2003? In 2011 we had our Championship-winning party when we hosted Leeds, and in 2014 there was an unforgettable rain-soaked victory over Wigan in the play-offs.

Moments such as these have provided memories to last a lifetime – and we want to hear about yours!

So if you’ve got a special Loftus Road moment, tell us! Or perhaps there’s a photo from within the stadium that means everything to you – send it in and explain why it’s so important to you!

The best stories and images will be used across our channels as we celebrate #LoftusRoad100 throughout the coming season.
