Willock & Marshall out for the season

CHRIS Willock and David Marshall have been ruled out for the season.

The pair both suffered hamstring injuries in our defeat to Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night and, following scans and consultations with specialists, it has been confirmed that neither will be able to feature again for QPR this term.

Dr Imtiaz Ahmad, QPR’s head of medical, said: “This is bitterly disappointing news for the players and the team.

“Chris suffered a high-grade tendon tear in his right hamstring. We sought the opinion of two specialists who both advised surgery was necessary. As a result, he will not be in a position to play again this season.

“David has suffered a tendon tear in his left hamstring. While he doesn’t require surgery, he will also be unavailable for selection for the remainder of the campaign.

“Both players are naturally very disappointed. We will be working closely with the pair over the coming weeks and months.”

QPR manager Mark Warburton added: “It is a bitter blow to lose two high-quality players from the squad who have been in such excellent form for us. Unfortunately, this is football and we have to deal with these challenges.

“We take comfort from the fact they are in the hands of an outstanding medical team and we look forward to seeing them return when they are ready.”
