THROUGHOUT March, members of QPR in the Community Trust’s Race Europe team have battled it out against 13 other London clubs in this year’s Race Europe event.
With the month now at a close, we were delighted to celebrate the amazing achievement of our fantastic team with a video call with French defender Yoann Barbet and Club Ambassador Any Sinton.
After clocking up an impressive 5,344 miles and finishing in a fantastic first place in a very competitive Non-Cycling League table, Barbet was on hand to thank each member of the team, ensuring that their support didn’t go unnoticed.
The R’s centre half told www.qpr.co.uk: “This is brilliant, we can’t see the fans around the stadium, so seeing that they are able to do something else like this and raise money for the Trust is brilliant.
“To be able to run so many miles is great and on behalf of all the players I hope I can see everyone as soon as possible back at the stadium and thank you for the great support.”
We have seen members of our team running, walking and skiing in all weathers - all in aid of QPR in the Community Trust - and we wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took part and have helped us raise vital funds during these tough times.
Andy Evans, CEO of QPR in the Community Trust, told www.qpr.co.uk: “I just wanted to say a huge thank you and congratulations to everyone who took part.
“Also, a big thank you to Yoann and Andy for joining us on the call as we looked to celebrate the amazing work of our fantastic team.
“These types of events showcase the amazing community spirit that we have throughout our fantastic fanbase and the fact everyone has put so much effort in, all in aid of the Trust, is hugely humbling.”
A huge congratulations to everyone who has taken part and from everyone here at QPR in the Community Trust, thank you once again.
