Local pupils invited as Guests of Honour

PUPILS from St Andrew & St Francis CofE Primary School were invited to Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium as QPR's Guests of Honour on Saturday, for the R's fixture against Bristol City.

Year 5 and 6 pupils from the school were recently left very frightened when an inter-school football match was interrupted by a group of dogs.

To help them recover from the ordeal, they visited W12 at the weekend and took part in a number of activities at the club's popular Family Fan Zone.

They then headed pitch-side to watch the QPR squad warm-up before lining up in a guard of honour to welcome both teams onto the pitch.

Teacher Andrew Gardner said: “It’s been a surreal day for everyone involved. We are here because of what happened to our boys and we as a school have been doing everything we can to help the children feel more comfortable around playing football again.

"This is another major step towards helping that. The lads have really enjoyed their day, so I have to say thank you to QPR."
