Mumbai Soccer Challenge 2017

TWO youngsters have earned a once-in-a-lifetime trip to QPR after being chosen from thousands as the latest winners of the Mumbai Soccer Challenge.

Shane Aranha and Altamash Valsangkar, both 14, can look forward to winging their way to west London in August after being selected from over 6,400 participants.

The Championship – taking place for the eighth successive year – saw over 800 teams involved and remains India’s largest community football tournament, giving boys and girls aged 6-16 the chance to impress during 100 matches played over seven days.

The event is the brainchild of Programme Director Sanjiv Saran Mehra, in conjunction with Rangers vice-chairman Amit Bhatia, Milind Deora, a Member of Parliament from the South Mumbai constituency, and Andy Evans, CEO of QPR in the Community Trust.
