TWO young footballing stars have arrived for what promises to be a week to remember with QPR.
Shane Aranha and Altamash Valsangkar, both 14, were selected from thousands as the winners of the latest Mumbai Soccer Challenge.
The Championship – which took place for the eighth successive year in May – saw over 800 teams and over 6,400 participants involved in what remains India’s largest community football tournament.
As a reward, the boys won a once-in-a-lifetime trip to W12 which began with a behind-the-scenes tour of Loftus Road courtesy of R’s legend and Club Ambassador, Andy Sinton.
They’ll also get to see Ian Holloway’s side in action up close and personal in training at Harlington during an action-packed week in west London.
The event is the brainchild of Programme Director Sanjiv Saran Mehra, in conjunction with Rangers vice-chairman Amit Bhatia, Milind Deora, a Member of Parliament from the South Mumbai constituency, and Andy Evans, CEO of QPR in the Community Trust.
