THERE was plenty going on in W12 on Saturday as Loftus Road celebrated the fabulous work of the club’s charitable arm, QPR in the Community Trust, for QPR Community Day.
Over 50 R’s supporters made the 13-mile walk from Harlington for Tiger Feet 8 – raising over £12,000 in the process for QPR Tiger Cubs, our very own Down’s Syndrome team.
The walkers joined the Tiger Cubs at the Family Fan Zone at PlayFootball, where the team were taking part in our Community Day mini-tournament before joining the walkers at Loftus Road for a well-deserved lap of honour in front of the R’s faithful.
Meanwhile, five unsung heroes in the local community – nominated by QPR fans – were honoured during a half-time pitch presentation.
The QPR Community Day also saw local public sector organisations and charities thanked for the work they do in the area, with local teachers, firefighters, police officers and NHS staff invited to attend the presentation.
