QPR Community Trust and the Mayor’s Office via the Young Londoners fund are proud to announce the launch of our new project On the Ball.
This scheme will see QPR staff working with young people aged 10-21 who have a parent currently in Wormwood Scrubs prison.
QPR Trust will provide a mentoring programme for young people and guide them into the right path for qualifications, employment opportunities, and volunteering in the local community.
Referral onto this project will come directly from local partner agencies and the prison service. We aim to work with each young person by setting up bespoke personal plans with individual goals.
QPR CEO Andy Evans said of the partnership: “It’s so important for young people to have positive influences in their life who they can turn to for support, guidance and just general advice. We hope by creating On the Ball we can give that kind of access to those who probably need it most.”
Whilst the London Mayor Sadiq Khan said: “By investing in projects, and young people, that are dedicated to giving young Londoners an opportunity to get involved in positive activities, we can work to help every child and teenager at risk off the streets, and away from the dangers of crime.”
