ON what is World Wellbeing Week, QPR’s ‘R You OK’ team remain contactable for supporters who are feeling vulnerable.
‘R You OK’ was launched in March – shortly after the UK government placed the country in ‘lockdown’ – and by the end of May the initiative had made or taken more than 600 calls.
The campaign was designed to encourage supporters to be open about their emotions at this unprecedented time, giving those who feel vulnerable, isolated, or just not themselves, a point of contact to discuss their feelings.
QPR’s Safeguarding Manager Janet Barr said: “This [R You OK] is providing people with the opportunity to talk about how they have been coping during lockdown. Without a doubt, one of the key messages here will be to talk about how you are feeling and remembering its OK not to be OK .
“The updated government guidelines may mean some people feel anxious about a return to normal life, especially if they have been shielding.
“The ‘R You OK’ team are still here to take calls, signpost to support agencies or just talk if that can help people.”
