QPR in the Community Trust are delighted to announce we have been supported by the Hillingdon Community Trust, funded by Heathrow, to deliver QPR health stars in schools in the southern six wards of the Borough.
The project has been running in Hillingdon for the past three years and has received great feedback from all schools that we have worked with.
Hillingdon Community Trust is an independent grant-making trust. It supports projects in the six southern wards of Hillingdon; Botwell, Heathrow Villages, Pinkwell, Townfield, Yiewsley and West Drayton and currently receives all of its funding from Heathrow Airport Limited.
The Health Stars project, delivered in Primary Schools, teaches children and their family’s key health messages and practical lifestyle improvements. Sessions include workshops around key health messages, physical activity, parent’s workshops and after-school clubs.
Sinead Friel, project manager for QPR Trust, expressed how important this funding is for QPR to continue having a positive impact in this area of London: “Thanks to this grant we can continue our delivery in the primary schools and increase our impact on the health and well being of the children and their families in Hillingdon.”
