ANDY Sinton has joined the QPR Community Trust Board of Trustees after accepting a personal invitation to do so from Ruben Gnanalingam, the chairman of the Trust.
The former R’s winger returned to the club as an ambassador in 2015 and has been an active supporter of the Trust’s work in that time, visiting many projects and seeing first-hand its benefits to the local community.
Sinton said: “I feel extremely honoured and privileged to join the Board of Trustees, and had a real sense of pride when Ruben invited me.
“I see my role as supporting the fantastic work of the Trust. We all know QPR is a real family club with the community at its heart, and in my opinion the importance of the Trust can never be overstated.”
Gnanalingam added: “I am thrilled that Andy has accepted our invitation.
“His empathy with the work of the Trust and the contribution he has already made as an ambassador have had a profound impact on so many of the participants.
“We now look forward to Andy continuing to make a positive contribution as a Trustee.”
Andy Evans, CEO of QPR Community Trust, said: “Andy’s knowledge and passion of what football can do to make a real difference to people’s lives will help with our strategic direction.
“As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Trust, I can think of no better addition to the Board. He is a real champion of our community club.”
Sinton joins as an independent Trustee.
