St Stephen’s School win Utilita Kids Cup qualifiers

QPR In the Community Trust recently hosted a Hammersmith and Fulham Year 6 football tournament, as part of the QPR Utilita Kids Cup Qualifiers.

With 14 local schools participating in the tournament at PlayFootball on South Africa Road, which is in close proximately to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, it gave local children the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of QPR coaches.

The tournament began at 10am and ran all the way until 3pm, with sides battling out for the spot in QPR’s Utilita Cup.

It was eventually whittled down to a final game between Addison School and St Stephens CE Primary School with the latter coming out on top and securing their place in QPR’s Kids Cup.

Speaking to www.qpr.co.uk QPR in the Community Trust's School's Sports Coordinator Gavin Forbes said, " Congratulations to St Stephen's CE Primary School, who won the QPR H&F qualifiers for the EFL Utilita Kids Cup on Friday 15th November.  I'd like to take this opportunity to say thank all the schools for attending the tournamentI think the tournament was played in a fantastic spirit and we were privileged to see some brilliant football played by all the teams." 

The EFL Utilita Kids Cup

Each season the English Football League organises two cup competitions for junior footballers from schools across the country, with the finals being played in the build-up to some of the biggest matches of the domestic season. The EFL Utilita Kids Cup is one of those competitions with the winners of the Club competition representing the club in a regional Finals. The winners of the regional Finals would go through to the Grand Final at Wembley 2020 of which a school representing QPR won in 2018.


St Stephen's, along with runners up Addison and 3rd place Holy Cross will represent Hammersmith and Fulham at QPR EFL Utilita Kids Cup Finals in January 2020.
