IN Recent years, Rangers supporter Steve Russell has raised a considerable amount of money for QPR in the Community Trust and the No10. Foundation by selling limited edition pin badges.
Russell, who regularly attends both QPR men’s and women’s games and is a regular blogger on the fans page Independent R’s, has raised significant amounts of money for different areas of the club, dating all the way back to 2007 through the sales of the badges.
In 2018, Steve presented the QPR Tiger Cubs, which is our official Down Syndrome football team, with a cheque for an amazing £604. It was presented on the club's 10th anniversary of the Trust.
His work didn’t stop there. Steve then raised £270 for the No10. Foundation, which raises funds to support former R’s players. As well as this, in 2016, Steve raised a fantastic £600 for former R’s maverick Stan Bowles to help with his care in his personal battle with Alzheimer’s.
Speaking to www.qpr.co.uk, Steve was delighted with how the sales of the badges have gone so far, stating: “I enjoy doing the badges. I know people like collecting them, so if they can raise a bit of money for some vital causes then that’s fantastic.”
Steve now has plans for future badges to raise more funds for areas of the club, so keep your eyes peeled for some fantastic, limited-edition badges and thank you Steve for all of your support.
