QPR in the Community Trust were delighted to host a fantastic Year 6 Leavers Football Tournament this summer, with 11 teams from across west London battling it out for the number one spot.
As the European Championships took place, our annual tournament was Euro-themed with each of the schools representing the top-11-ranked teams at this year's tournament.
After an intense and tightly-contested group stage, schools representing Germany, Wales, Spain, Portugal, England, Croatia, France and Denmark progressed to the knockout stages.
The action packed, net-busting knockout stages saw 47 goals, resulting in a final contested by Ark Academy (England) and Ark Priory (Spain).
Many schools stayed behind to watch the eagerly-awaited final between the two Ark schools and they were not disappointed!
They played out an exhilarating final. The end-to-end, almost Basketball-like game would see another goal fest as Ark Priory came out on top 4-3 and were crowned winners of the Year 6 Leavers Tournament!
The Year 6 Leavers Tournament was the first competition that QPR in the Community Trust had been able to organise due to the pandemic. It was great to see participants competing once again.
