BACK in March the country was plunged into months of lockdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak. But in the country’s hour of need, many ordinary people stepped up and became ‘Lockdown Heroes!
As a result, QPR in the Community Trust are working together with Addison Community Champions to launch an exciting online campaign asking you ‘Who is your lockdown hero?’
We are asking families to create and share a hand-made card for someone that has been supportive and kind during these difficult times of Covid-19. For example, this person could be another family member, a neighbour, the delivery person, a teacher, a local health professional, or a volunteer.
We have heard of numerous heart-warming stories of people connecting in their communities and helping each other.
We want you to produce and deliver a card to your lockdown hero, for a way to say a special thank you and to inspire all of us during the uncertain times still ahead.
To celebrate these acts of kindness widely, you can also submit a photo of your card and it will be displayed on a special gallery.
We will also share your cards on @QPRTrust’s social media pages to showcase the importance of community spirit and the people who made a difference, because kindness matters!
Please send your images to [email protected] and do not forget to tell us:
- Your family name or nickname (for example, Smith family or Shepherds Bush family)
- The ages of the children who participated
- A brief sentence about the person who is receiving your card (for example, “We are sending a card to my neighbour who has helped us with shopping”).
Start getting creative and enjoy the family time to say thank you!
For Hammersmith and Fulham Residents:
If you follow this link you could be entered into a prize draw, with fantastic tablets up for grabs.
