Rangers show their support for former player
QPR LADIES and Actonians helped raise £550 for former R’s player Leah Taylor on Wednesday night.
The pre-season friendly – which was switched to Bedfont Sports Club due to a waterlogged pitch at North Greenford – saw Rangers suffer a 4-0 defeat.
The evening, though, was all about Leah as fans dug deep to support the Taylor family in their efforts to raise the thousands of pounds needed for specialist rehabilitation - following Leah’s serious fall last month which threatened to leave her paraplegic.
“We’d like to thank everyone who came and donated,” R’s manager Martino Chevannes told www.qprlfc.co.uk.
“The main focus was Leah, and it was great to see her family there.
“It was a good, competitive game played in a good spirit by both sides.
“We’ve still got a long way to go in terms of fundraising, so we’re aiming to do more events during the coming months. It’s important we help Leah’s family reach their total so Leah can get her much-needed rehabilitation.”
