IN SEPTEMBER 2018, QPR launched a partnership with Eton College to benefit the club’s academy players as well as current and future Etonians.
That relationship will continue on Tuesday when our Under 18s visit them to play an Eton College First XI, with the two teams being mixed up to play with and against each other.
QPR Academy Director Alex Carroll told www.qpr.co.uk: “We are extremely grateful to Simon Henderson (Head Master) and his staff for hosting us once again.
“Our partnership with Eton has provided the U18s with some invaluable experiences and on this occasion the players will hear from James Kerr, a world-renowned motivational speaker and author of ‘Legacy’, an opportunity which I’m sure many would be hugely envious of.”
The initial relationship was proposed by Vice Chairman Ruben Gnanalingam, an Old Etonian, and Carroll explained: “During our previous visit it was fantastic to observe the groups sharing their experiences and we will be setting our players some leadership challenges this time around to provide them with a platform to positively contribute to the mutually-beneficial relationship.
“Our Academy mission statement is to deliver a world-leading development programme, in a safe environment, that educates individuals both on and off the pitch to support them in reaching their potential.
“This partnership will go a long way to supporting us in achieving this”.
