QPR FC Women are thrilled to announce the signing of defender Danielle Maloney.
Maloney, 21, joins Rangers with a wealth of experience as preparations for the new campaign begin to intensify.
Danielle, who has previously played for Watford FC Women, Stevenage FC Women and most recently Hounslow becomes Steve Quashie’s first signing of the summer, as we look ahead to the new season in the FA Women’s National League Division 1 South East.
After completing the switch to W12, Danielle told www.qpr.co.uk: “I am really excited, and I can’t wait to get going.
“I have known of Steve for quite a while, and I have known Jon (Whittingham, assistant manager) for five years and we have had a couple of conversations about how keen they were to get me in. I can’t wait to get started.
“After a tough season I want to start enjoying my football again and Steve and Jon really highlighted that to me - that hugely attracted me to the club.
“From the age of nine to 16 I was at Watford, before I dipped my toes into women’s football and enjoyed a year at Stevenage.
“I then went back to Watford Women where I was captain of the Under-23s side for two seasons. Last year, I was vice captain at Hounslow Women in the tier above and hopefully I will be able to bring some of that experience to QPR.”
She added: “I have played in this division before and the tier above, so I would like to think that I have quite a bit of experience of the women’s game. I am only 21 but I am hoping that alongside the other experienced girls, I can bring that to the team, and we can really push forward and make a name for ourselves in this league this season.
“I am really excited to get to know the fans, they are a huge part of this club, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Welcome to QPR, Danielle!
