QPR FC Women are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Katie McLean.
Shot stopper Mclean joins Rangers from Watford Women as preparations for the new campaign continue to intensify.
Katie, who has previously had a stint with Northampton Town, before moving to Hertfordshire for a two-year spell with the Hornets, will become Steve Quashie’s third signing of the summer, following the arrival of Danielle Maloney and Emilia Nygaard-Parsons, as we continue to look ahead to the new season in the FA Women’s National League Division 1 South East.
After completing the switch to W12, Katie told www.qpr.co.uk: “I can’t wait to get going, I am so excited to be here.
“QPR is a great club, that has already progressed so much, especially with the promotion last season, but we have some big goals for the campaign ahead, let’s bring it on.
“I already know a lot of the girls here and once I spoke to Steve I honestly think the club sold itself, it was a no brainer really and that was that.”
The new R’s keeper added: “I previously spent the last two seasons at Watford’s Development and Under 23s side, so I like to think that I have gained a lot of experience there playing with particular players, but before that I was at Northampton Town and have slowly but surely worked my way up and now, I am really pleased to be a part of QPR.
“I am very physical and quite loud, the fans will defiantly hear me, but I would like to think that I am quite a consistent goalkeeper and I hope that that will bring a lot to the team this season.
“I am looking to meet the supporters, on both a professional and a personal level, I think that is important and let’s bring on this season.”
Welcome to QPR, Katie!
