QPR FC Women manager Steve Quashie ‘was over the moon’ following his side's emphatic victory over Oakwood Ladies on Sunday, meaning Rangers progress through to the next round of the FA Cup.
“After last week’s disappointing performance over Denham I am pleased we got the reaction we wanted," he said. "Credit has to go to Oakwood. They set up with a good formation but we were just unstoppable at times.
"When we play well, we are so strong and dynamic, we attack in good numbers with pace, intensity and we were razor sharp in front of goal.
“The players certainly improved in the key areas and came out with a point to prove. We were so strong, especially in the first 20-25 minutes and that ultimately put the game to bed pretty early.”
Going in at the break, the R’s had already scored seven and Quashie was pleased with the Women’s second half performance. He said: “In the second half, we adapted our strategy in terms of our build-up play and tried to be more patient on the ball, which will benefit us more in the long term.
“Goals are being scored from various units around the pitch and it’s good to see us attacking with no fear.”
QPR FC Women’s attention now switches to a tough trip to Aylesford United on Sunday and manager Quashie knows it will be another difficult task for the R’s.
He said: “We know teams are setting up defensively against us now, so we need to be sharper, switched on and show better game intelligence if we are to maintain our undefeated start to the campaign.”
