BORN in East Anglia, Andre – the son of former Ipswich Town star Jason Dozzell – has been quick to carve a career out for himself courtesy of his progression through the youth ranks at Portman Road, before signing for QPR in the summer of 2021.
Having joined the Tractor Boys at the age of eight, the young midfielder went on to make his first professional appearance in April 2016, at the age of 16. Dozzell quickly made a name for himself as he headed home the Blues’ equaliser against Sheffield Wednesday only 26 minutes into his senior debut.
The 22-year-old would then go on to be crowned Ipswich’s young player of the year that season, before signing his first professional contract the following summer.
Coinciding with his fine form for Town, Dozzell also featured heavily for the England youth sides, with caps for England Under-16s, 17s, 18s, 19s and Under-20s seeing him playing alongside some top talent.
He also played a starring role in the Three Lions’ victorious 2017 European Under-19 Championships campaign.
A cruciate ligament tear against Birmingham City on the opening day of the 2017/18 campaign saw him miss the entire '17/18 campaign. But, following Ipswich’s relegation to Sky Bet League One, Dozzell became a key figure for Blues once more.
He racked up an impressive 46 appearances in all competitions throughout the 2020/21 campaign.
