ANDRE Gray joined QPR on a season-long loan deal from Watford in August 2021 - four years after the Hornets reportedly paid more than £18million to take him to Vicarage Road from Burnley.
After making his professional debut for Shrewsbury Town in 2009, the Wolverhampton-born forward came through non-league football to arrive at the Premier League, netting prolifically for the likes of Hinckley United and Luton Town before switching to Brentford in 2014.
Back then, the Bees were managed by now-R's boss Mark Warburton and in 52 appearances for the club, Gray scored 20 goals, earning a £9million move to Burnley in the process in 2015.
Andre immediately hit the ground running at Turf Moor, firing his team to promotion with 23 goals in 41 outings.
Nine goals in 26 top-flight starts during 2016/17 proved Gray was capable in the top division, too, and Watford then snapped him up in the summer of 2017. In his first season at the Vic, the striker scored five goals.
During 2018/19, Gray improved upon this tally, netting nine times. These included crucial winning strikes at home against Everton, Leicester City and Crystal Palace, as Watford achieved their highest league finish since the 1980s and reached their second-ever FA Cup final.
The following campaign, he netted twice as the Hornets were relegated from the top-flight, before scoring five times in 14 starts during an immediate bounce back in 2020/21.
Gray made his debut for Jamaica in March 2021, and scored his first goal for the Reggae Boyz in June against Serbia.
