JAKE Clarke-Salter became Michael Beale’s first signing as QPR head coach after the defender agreed a four-year deal at Loftus Road in June 2022.
The 24-year-old defender joined the R’s on a free transfer after leaving Chelsea - a club he had been at since the age of eight - and in doing so was reacquainted with Beale, who coached him in his early years.
During his time at Stamford Bridge, Clarke-Salter enjoyed loan spells with Bristol Rovers in League One and Sunderland in the Championship before joining Vitesse Arnhem in the Dutch top-flight for the 2018/19 campaign.
Loans back in the Championship followed for the next three seasons, spending two with Birmingham City and the 2021/22 campaign at Coventry City.
Clarke-Salter – who made 31 appearances for the Sky Blues last term – has also captained England at Under-21 level previously.
