SCOTTISH International striker Lyndon Dykes has featured regularly for the R’s following his arrival from SPL side Livingston in August 2020.
Having opened his QPR account on the opening day of the 2020/21 Sky Bet Championship campaign against Nottingham Forest, the Rangers frontman went on to notch an impressive 12 strikes in his first full season in the blue and white hoops, seeing him finish the season as our top goalscorer.
Born on Australia’s Gold Coast but with Scottish heritage, Dykes hails from Queensland and spent his younger years living and playing as a rugby league full-back in Canberra.
He eventually took up association football and following spells with youth teams Mudgeeraba and Merrimac, he joined Queen of the South’s Under-20s.
Although he would play for Queen of the South professionally, he moved back to Australia in 2015, before returning to Scotland once again in 2016.
An impressive spell with QoS saw him moving to Livingston and it was during his time at the Almondvale Stadium that he caught the eye.
After scoring 14 goals in 36 appearances, Dykes then moved to W12 ahead of the 2020/21 campaign and he has continued to spearhead the R’s attack ever since. The arrival of strike partner Charlie Austin led to Dykes’ best form in a Rangers shirt during ‘20/21.
Now a full Scottish international, the 25-year-old was one of only two R’s players to play at the 2020 European Championships.
