HAVING progressed through the youth ranks at boyhood club West Brom, midfielder Sam Field initially arrived at Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium on loan in January 2021, before making the switch to the capital permanent in the summer.
An engine-roomer with an eye for a pass and lust for a 50/50 challenge, Field made the move to W12 with Championship and Premier League pedigree.
Rising through the academy at the Baggies, Field went on to make his Premier League bow in a draw against Liverpool at the tail end of the 2015/16 campaign. The midfielder was also named West Brom’s academy player of the year that season, ensuring he capped off what was a fine year personally.
Having represented England at Under-18, U19 and most recently U20 level, Field eventually moved to Charlton Athletic on loan during the 2019/20 campaign.
An injury-hit campaign with the Addicks saw him return to the Hawthorns, and limited game time back in the Midlands saw him complete a switch to QPR.
The 23-year-old went on to make 19 appearances for the R’s in 2020/21, scoring once – a memorable strike against Brentford on his debut in the blue and white hoops.
This impressive form saw Rangers quickly moving to make the deal permanent in the summer of 2021, with W12 now just Field’s second-ever footballing home.
