HAVING joined QPR in August 2017, goalkeeper Seny Dieng has gone on to make the position his own, with plaudits aplenty for his all-action displays and distribution of the ball ensuring the number one spot is well and truly his.
Initially making his senior debut in 2012 with FC Grechen, the Senegalese international moved to German side MSV Duisburg before making the switch to W12 prior to the start of the 2017/18 campaign.
Dieng quickly became a mainstay in Rangers’ Under-23 team before impressive loan spells with Stevenage, Dundee and Doncaster Rovers saw the shot-stopper pushing for a spot in Mark Warburton’s starting XI.
After finally making his R’s debut against Middlesbrough in 2020, Dieng became a key player for Rangers throughout the 2020/21 Sky Bet Championship campaign.
Having racked up 42 appearances and 11 clean sheets in his first full season for the R’s, Dieng – along with defender Rob Dickie – was voted by his peers as Players’ Player of the Year for the 2020/21 campaign, impressive form which also earned him his first international call-up.
