FOLLOWING the recent successes of QPR’s first team players and staff talking with our academy players, Ilias Chair took time out from preparations for the season restart to answer Q&As, as well as offer invaluable guidance.

Hosted by Alex Carroll, QPR’s Academy Director, the sessions are open to all academy ages, from U9s to U16s, as well as the U18 and U23 squads.

Carroll said: “Ilias has come a long way since his trial period at the academy.

“He spoke eloquently about the challenges that he has faced and the need to prove people wrong due to his size, messages which will have been really important for a number of our young players to hear.”

“Ilias’ determination & humility shone throughout the interview and it was great to hear him share his appreciation for Chris Ramsey, Paul Hall and Andrew Impey, who all played pivotal roles in his development as a player and as a person.

“When addressing questions from our Academy boys it was nice to hear that he and Ebere still continue to use the practices they learned in the academy to develop their technique.”
