EIGHT-YEAR-OLD Felix Martineau was the real man of the match when we hosted Bournemouth on Monday evening.
Joined by his supportive sister, Aurelia, Felix marked the successful end of a three-year battle with leukaemia by reading a poem and ringing a bell on the pitch at half-time.
The poem and bell-ringing are common occurrences in hospitals to mark the end of chemotherapy for a patient.
Ring this bell
Three times well
Its toll to clearly say
My treatment’s done
This course is run
And I am on my way!
Well done Felix! And great job, Aurelia!
